Best Japanese money domination to use?

I was wondering what is the Japanese Yen equivalent to the U.S. $20 bill? Is it the 2000 yen, 5000 yen, or 10,000 yen bill? I am NOT asking for the actual monetary equivalent, but rather the ease and accessibility of the bill. For example, some stores and fast food places in the U.S. won't take bills over $50 or $100, but they will easily accept $20 bills. I want to know what the largest amount of Yen is that would be easily accepted in places like even fast food restaurants. I'm going on a trip there, and so I want to know what I should exchange my US Dollars for in terms of Yen. Thanks!
