Do Germans Appreciate Attempts to Speak Their Language?

Yes they do appreciate attempts to speak their language. The french however, do not. Many Germans know English anyways, because they learn it in school. Americans speaking German sounds more amusing than horrible. Don't worry about speaking it correctly. It will come with time. Just buy them a beer and they'll be happy. :]
